MELASHDAN is a 2200 ha dryland mixed farming property situated 27km north of Tumby Bay on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.
We breed Dorper sheep and grow dryland crops of wheat and barley with an average annual rainfall of 325mm per year. We are very passionate about the Full Blood Dorper and White Dorper meat sheep breed.
The performance and predictability of the Full blood Dorper and White Dorper is based on 80 years of breeding. A self-replacing Meat Sheep with no defined breeding season – meaning they can lamb unassisted all year round. They will re-join soon after lambing and do not require shearing.
They are very adaptable and thrive exceptionally well from the Pastoral areas of Australia to the high rainfall improved pastures, or in the feedlot.
